Omotola: Nigeria's Sexiest Diva Revealed
Her name is Omotola Ojolade Ekeinde; The Actress cum Singer burst into the Nollywood film industry with the movie “Mortal Inheritance” (1995) where she played a sickle-cell patient who fights for her life even when she knows she might not be able to live. This film which received good reviews, won her awards for her role in the movie and is still known as one of Nigeria’s best movies ever made.
This talented beauty and mother of Four has wowed her way onto the hearts of millions of admirers globally and recently recieved the 2012 BEFFTA Film Icon award, even as plans are underway to launch her own reality TVshow in December. Omotola who was described as an epitome of pure beauty and inspiration by Afeni Shakur mother of late Icon Tupac Shakur when she visited the 2Pac Foundation sometime last year to share her vision to have Omotola Youth Empowerment Programme (OYEP), her NGO collaborate with 2Pac Center for Arts and Learning in helping to get kids off the street and making their life count in Nigeria has promised that there is yet more to come from her.
In an interview with Fidelis Mbah of BBC’s Focus on Africa, she spoke about her role in the new movie, Amina. She also gives kudos to the Nollywood industry which she says has improved over the years “If you watch most movies out of Nollywood in the past 3, 4 years, perhaps since 2006, most of the big budget movies are what they are, big budget movies that can compete with any other movie from anywhere else around the world, even Hollywood.” she explained.
