Once Upon A Story: Robin Van Persie

When Van Persie departed Arsenal For the red half of Manchester last summer, nobody was sure what to expect really considering his long history of struggling with injuries during his time with Arsenal.Though coming off the back of his most impressive run of form with the Gunners with a return of 34 goals, it was apparent Manchester United was a different story altogether A club rated as one of the greatest of all time and that has dominated the English league since its inception. Considering the emerging threat of United's fierce rivals Manchester City, it was without doubt going to be the dutch man's most difficult challenge yet. However, like  a mythical hero in a shiny Armour  he struck with a vengeance and never looked back. After scoring goals against all of United's major oppositions, he hit a goal drought that lasted almost two months. But his general play during the time was still a class above normal. His set pieces have created goals for the likes of Rooney, Welbeck, Hernandez & even Patrice Evra who before this season had only one goal in his United career but now boasts four for this season alone.
I hope i've answered all your questions? he seems to ask
The throphy drought at Arsenal is no longer a secret affair and after spending seven years waiting for his first Premier league medal, Robin knew it was time to move on, and move on he did. Fast forward to Monday 22 April 2013, and he was busy sending the theatre of dreams into delirium. His second volleyed goal has been described as the sort of goal you dream about as a child. Rooney floated a 40-yard pass behind the Villa defence and van Persie met the ball first-time with a technically immaculate volley from outside the box that rocketed past goalkeeper Brad Guzan and into the net. It was indeed an unbelievable goal. “It was a great ball from Wayne, so the only thing I had to do was guide it right and hit it properly and it went in great, but more important was the result,” he said after the game. Van Persie further illustrated his value by heading off the line from Weimann early in the second half.

"I am surrounded by champions"
Arsenal Fans will now have to face the agony of watching their former captain return as a Manchester United  great. Without a doubt It will be one of the toughest and most humiliating experiences for Arsenal fans to see their former captain return but football needs to keep its sportsmanship and Arsenal would have expected the same if the tables were turned.
